ETERNA OFFICIAL TIMING PARTNER OF THE GTD CLASS WINNER AT THE ROLEX DAYTONA 24
End of January, Eterna had the honor of being the official timing partner of the Alegra Motorsports team, who went on to become the GTD class winners of the 2017 Rolex Daytona 24-hour race. In recognition of Eterna’s sponsorship of the team, the Alegra Motorsports team members all received Super KonTiki’s watch.
For 24 hours, 55 racing teams battled for position on the road course at the Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Florida. For the first time, Eterna was the official timing partner and is proud of the Alegra Motorsport team for winning the GTD class category.
Rolex Daytona 24 is the first major automobile race of the year in the United States. The race took place on Saturday, January 28th. It is one of what has historically been known as the Triple Crown of Endurance Racing—the three most gruelling endurance races in the world—alongside the 12-hour Sebring race and the 24-hour Le Mans race.
The multi-championship Alegra Motorsports winning team was made up of Carlos de Quesada (2007 Daytona GT winner), Michael de Quesada (2016 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama Gold Champion), Jesse Lazare (2016 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama Platinum Champion), Daniel Morad (2016 Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama and IMSA North American Champion), and Michael Christensen (Porsche Factory Driver).
Congratulations to the team for their well-deserved victory!
